Final Fantasy XIV Patch 2.1: A Realm Awoken trailer

Square Enix has released a trailer for the first major update to its revised MMO, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. This patch will bring PvP battles, Free Company housing, treasure hunts and many more changes and fixes, plus it adds a bunch of new dungeons as well as a Duty Roulette feature to encourage players to return to old ones – rewards will be greater and newer players won’t have so much trouble forming groups for the mandatory story dungeons. Oh, and 2.1 will also introduce the game’s first 24-player raid, the Crystal Tower, plus Extreme versions of the Primal battles against Ifrit, Titan and Garuda – it appears that a fourth, Siren, might also be joining the cast of Eidolon bosses.

Check out the full ten-minute trailer below, plus there are plenty more details over on the Lodestone if you want to read up on the update. We’re looking forward to the patch hitting on 17 December – those sweet, sweet Warrior buffs can’t come soon enough.
