EVO 2012: Reminding Us Why People Do Care About Esports

EVO 2012 is over, we have a bunch of champions for this year and we have a ton more reasons to point out to those who don’t put any stock in esports that they’re actually great fun to watch. See, for example, the grand final of Virtua Fighter 5, which shows two players far better than we could ever hope to be – yes, even Ryan – kicking the snot out of each other:

It makes us want to practice, if anything. Are there any tournaments that offer cash prizes for being ‘okay’ at Bayonetta, or ‘putting a lot of time into’ Metal Gear Soild: Peace Walker? Hmm. The deck seems stacked in favour of those with actual talent, annoyingly.

Roll on the road to EVO 2013.
