Hitman Absolution Tease: Multiplayer Madness?

Hitman Absolution Tease: Multiplayer Madness?

You know how it is: you come back from lunch with an email in your inbox titled ‘Hitman: Absolution E3 trailer’. Glorious, glorious.

Then you open it and there’s not a trailer, but a tease for a trailer. And it’s got some ladies holding guns. And it might very well be a multiplayer teaser. And then you lose said lunch.

Well, that last bit didn’t happen to us, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it did for some people. And we understand why. If this is a MP tease, it’ll be the first time the series has dipped it’s toe in the online waters, and people are afraid of change. Just look at the reaction to the game so far.

Thing is, there is scope in the series for multiplayer. Take Assassin’s Creed for excample, and how it forged an entertaining online experience out of a stealth game. We’d love a Hitman title that enabled two players to team up and work a mission, or possibly a competitive mode that has teams with differing abilities, like Splinter Cell used to.

So calm down. We’re not even sure what it is yet. The women could be a cabal of infamous killers you’ve got to take down. It could be 47 experimenting with different outfits: he is a professional after all.

Most of all, it could be that IO knows what it is doing.
