Bakumatsu Rock coming to PSP in February

The PSP games just keep on coming, with the latest announcement being Bakumatsu Rock – a rhythm action game set in feudal Japan.

It’s Japan-only for the time being (and probably forever, seeing as how Western support for PSP dried up while you could still buy the handheld everywhere) but it looks awesome. Think Project Diva with rock music and a cool backdrop rather than creepy anime letchery and you’re on the right track.

If you’ve got a Japanese PSN account, you’ll be able to download the game in February for PSP or Vita, or you could always just do things the old-fashioned way – dust off the PSP, get your import on and make good use of the handheld’s region-free capabilities. It’s all gone a bit quiet on the rhythm action front lately so if you need a fix, this looks to be as good a place to get one as any. And that trailer… so much shouting. About something. Looks great. Get on it.
