Watch The Last Of Us performed live

We love The Last Of Us, and its story is one of the most well-written and emotionally affecting in all of gaming. As such, this project interests us greatly. On Monday 28th July in Los Angeles, a special performance of the game will take place, featuring live readings of the script and performance of the soundtrack.

The Last Of Us: One Night Live will feature a live reading of select scenes by the principal actors, under the direction of Neil Druckmann from Naughty Dog. Scheduled to appear are Troy Baker, Ashley Johnson, Merle Dandridge, Hana Hayes, and Annie Wersching. On top of this, composer Gustavo Santaolalla will perform selections from his score. We don’t know exactly how it’s all going to pan out (will they act out the lines as they perform them?) but the whole thing sounds extremely interesting.

The performance will be staged at the Broad Stage in Santa Monica on Monday, 28th July at 7.00pm PT, and if you happen to be in the area that evening you can secure free tickets to attend the performance in person. Check out the North American PlayStation Facebook page for details on how to register.

For those of us who won’t be in LA next week (that’s us), select portions of the program will be streamed live around the world on Twitch, YouTube and PlayStation Network’s Live Event Viewer. We know we’ll be tuning in.

Check out the trailer for the event below, but if you haven’t played the game yet, watch out for spoilers.
