Tekken 7 announced

Bandai Namco has announced Tekken 7 at this year’s Evo fighting game tournament. According to series producer Katsuhiro Harada, the game wasn’t actually supposed to be announced so early – another of the three mystery projects he is working on was supposed to be highlighted. However, after the existence of Tekken 7 was leaked, Harada apparently quickly cut together a reveal trailer and showed it instead. We aren’t sure how much we believe him, but it makes a good story at least.

Tekken 7 will run on Unreal Engine 4, and while the trailer has no gameplay, it shows the ongoing familial drama between members of the Mishima family, as well as highlighting Heihachi’s lover and Kazuya’s mother, a character not yet seen in the franchise. No platforms are given, but we’ll eat our hats if this doesn’t come out on PS4. Check out the trailer below.
