Radical Is Dead. Let’s All Play Hulk: Ultimate Destruction

Another year, another Activision studio bites the dust. This time around it’s Radical Entertainment, or as your probably know them ‘the guys that made Prototype’.

It’s sad to see any developer close (or, in Radical’s case, be relegated to ‘support work’ on other Activision titles) especially when, like Radical it’ll probably be remembered for games that weren’t its best. Radical will probably always be remembered as ‘the guys that made Prototype’, when it probably should be ‘The guys that made The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, one of PS2’s most enjoyable open-world games and better than Prototype’.

We’re not saying that Radical was the best developer out there, and yes it did turn out some absolute guff, like most devs.  But it also made some enjoyable games, so do the right thing: head out to Game (if it still exists where you are) pick up Hulk, The Simpsons Hit And Run and Scarface and have some fun.

I had serious fun playing The Simpsons: Hit & Run when I was younger. Out of respect, I’ll forgive Radical the crazy things they did in their Crash Bandicoot games.
