Skyrim: UK Collector’s Edition Revealed

Bethesda has revealed the price and contents of the Collector’s Edition for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Here’s a picture of it first, so you can have a look and rush off to pre-order it before you read any of the text because text is so boring.

Boom! Now you’re looking at that and you’re probably thinking cool, I’m getting the game, a dragon and some map thing. Yes! But there’s more to the package than that and a lot of them have much cooler names.

Alduin Statue: This is the dragon statue, but instead of calling it that, they’re calling it a name that no-one understands. Fair enough. It’s modelled on ‘Alduin the World Eater’ from actual in-game 3D digital files. We’re also told it’s been made in conjuction with IP Factory, which might mean something to you. Probably doesn’t though. It’s 30.5cm tall.

‘The Art of Skyrim’ Official Art Book: The art book is 200 pages of ‘striking, full-colour illustrations, sketches and models’. Good news if you were only expecting limp, semi-colour drawings. It’ll be 23.8cm by 30.8cm and has a foreword by game director Todd Howard.

‘The Making of Skyrim’ DVD: Of course, the token making of DVD. Behind-the-scenes footage, interviews with Bethesda Game Studios, story insights, legacy of the franchise and so on. Should be more interesting than most ‘making of’ DVDs, if only because Elder Scrolls has some real heritage behind it and ‘making of’ DVDs are generally awful.

And now, the gory details. The Collector’s Edition is available via pre-order through GAME and Gamestation and will cost a whopping £129.99. Owwwww.

So, who’s game? Who’s going to be picking one of these up?
