PSPgo will fail at retail, according to retailer

The PSPgo will “fail miserably” according to Don McCabe, MD of the UK’s largest independent retailer Chips. And that’s about all that really needs to be said in an intro for this story.

Speaking to Gamesindustry.biz, McCabe said:

“My own personal opinion is that it’s a no-go. I’ve been to a number of presentations to see if there’s anything there and I don’t feel it’ll go anywhere, to be honest.

“I’m 99.9 per cent sure it’s going to fail miserably, in which case it’s going to put back other potential people coming into that digital space.”

This is the same McCabe who launched a scathing attack on supermarkets for their aggressive pricing policies. It’s obvious why he feels the need to attack things that could be harmful to his business, but we can’t help but think it’s a bit presumptuous to entirely write off the PSPgo before it’s had any real chance to get going. Time will tell, and all that.

and i’m sure he’s not piss off that he can’t sell the games for it.

the fact of the matter is shops will olny be able to sell the consoles and not the games new and/or used. this is a long term tactic from this retailer too try and keep physical games in the market place
