Crash Commando

Today’s Store update is a fairly hefty, if slightly underwhelming one.

The big promotion today is all to do with the underrated and under-played Crash Commando. The game itself – sort of a 2D Unreal Tournament – is getting a significant and free update with new character classes and some changes to the gameplay. Sony is also reducing the price of the game to £3.99. We scored the game 80% when we reviewed it earlier in the year, so you might want to think about getting it.

There are two new downloadable games available today – Smash Cars and Battle Tanks – and in time-honoured Store fashion, we haven’t been told and thing about either, let alone reviewed them. We’ll be doing so as soon as is humanly possible.

Today’s demos are NHL 10 and F.E.A.R. 2: Reborn and there’s downloadable content for Fight Night Round 4, Disgaea 3, Crash Commando, Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Tiger Woods PGA 09, Rock Band and LittleBigPlanet. The LBP DLC is a new sticker pack from graphic artist Vera Bee.

Also of note is the free DLC for Batman: Akham Asylum that enables you to play as the Joker. Yep, this mode is exclusive to PS3. Oh, and the game’s out tomorrow so if you’re going to buy it we suggest you download this in anticipation. We will be.

That’s kind of it really. No sign of Fallout 3 DLC or the PS3 firmware 3.0 update yet, but, as always, we’ll let you know as soon as these are out.

As usual the Store will be updated around 4pm this afternoon.
