Media Molecule says no to LittleBigPlanet sequel

Anyone hoping for a LittleBigPlanet sequel will be sorely disappointed with the news that it is never going to happen, although anyone hoping for a LittleBigPlanet sequel will have missed the point of LittleBigPlanet so badly that you’d have to assume they hadn’t played it. It’s not just a game, it’s a platform in its own right and for that reason MM has clearly stated that it will continue to make regular updates available, including water coming soon, but is not planning on a sequel on the grounds that such a thing would disrupt and undermine everything that’s great about LittleBigPlanet. It’s down to the fans to keep producing ‘more of the same but better’ and they’re doing an admirable job so far.

Of course, if you really need a completely new LittleBigPlanet game, there’s always the PSP version (pictured above), which is out on 20 November. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m reviewing it so I’d better get back to playing it for the rest of the day. I’ve only just started, but so far, so good.

It does make sense, but so far the dlc hasn’t really been used as well as it could be. I’d like to see some official levels for various things like well known films.

i agree.leaving everything to the community seems very lazy.MM do need to produce more levels and quickly to.

yeah i can agree with making kinda Promo levels for things, but they did for MGS and mabey others but not a lot. the levels made by the community can be good but most are made for getting the trophies.
but we have to remeber they have also been busy with LBP water thing as well, which is going to spark some interest back into the game.
