Long Wait For Elder Scrolls V

ElderScrolls

Bethesda executive producer Todd Howard has revealed at Quakecon that a sequel to Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is a long way off and as such is unlikely to be Bethesda’s next in-house release. The makers of the Elder Scrolls series as well as the hugely successful Fallout 3 had suggested in the past that they would return to Elder Scrolls next and while Howard’s comments suggested that may not be the case he did offer the concession that a Elder Scrolls MMO was still a possibility.

Asked if an MMO was a possibility he told the audience at Quakecon “there’s always a chance.” He did however confirm that the development team will not be making anymore Fallout 3 DLC and that “We are working on our next big game but we are not talking about it.” So, what could Bethesda been working on? It’s already expanding into the publishing world with games like Wet and Rogue Warrior on the horizon as well as Fallout: New Vegas from Obisidian, but that still leaves the dev team with their hands free. Perhaps we can find out more at Gamescon this week.
