I Am Alive Goes PSN

I Am Alive Goes PSN

I Am Alive lives! Re-announced (sort of) by Ubisoft, the ‘postapocalyptic action/adventure game’ will hit PSN before the year is out. Which is a surprise. Announced by Ubisoft in 1920 (rough guess), it then disappeared off the radar as rumours of cancellations and development hell swirled.

Ubisoft has confirmed that not only is the project still… alive (we know, we know) but it will also be a downloadable title.

By and large, it’s still the same game it was when first announced. I Am Alive takes place after the ‘event’ which has left the world a shattered, devastated place where those who survived are being killed by the dust and toxic ash.

With society torn apart, the survivors are turning on each other, which is hinted at in the trailer Ubisoft released alongside the announcement. You need to look after your stamina and resources, while scaling weak, wobbling buildings is also a key part of the game.

The most interesting gameplay aspect will be the combat system, which is focused on the use of intimidation tactics, such as using empty guns to scare a crowd.

“We know people have been waiting for this game to arrive, and we believe it’s going to be worth the wait,” said Adam Novickas, Director of Marketing at Ubisoft. “I Am Alive presents a unique take on the postapocalyptic, survival genre by creating more complex and emotional situations for the player. Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network are the perfect platforms to leverage the mature and challenging experiences of the game.”

Sounds good – we’ll have more on this veeeery soon…
