FIFA Interactive World Cup qualification starts now, only on PS3

FIFA_01

Qualification has now begun for the official FIFA Interactive World Cup, the biggest FIFA tournament in the world, and presumably one of the biggest games tournaments in the world, full stop. The event is an official collaboration between FIFA, EA and Sony.

Last year, over half a million FIFA 09 players competed for the title of World Champion with Frenchman Bruce Grannec emerging as victor at the Grand Final in Barcelona. He won $20,000, a car and an invitation to the prestigious FIFA World Player Gala event. He’ll go up against 31 other finalists at this year’s Grand Final, again to take place in Barcelona.

This year the prize is the same, but apparently without the car. You can enter the tournament either by going to one of the live qualification events taking place all over the world (venues still to be confirmed), or simply boot up FIFA 10 on your PS3, select FIFA Interactive World Cup on the Online Game Modes menu and follow the on-screen instructions.
