Dead Space Getting Multiplayer Too?

It would seem that Tomb Raider is not the only franchise looking to branch out from its single-player roots and move into the lucrative world of online multiplayer as EA has been advertising a MP position for Dead Space. In case you weren’t aware Dead Space 2 was announced yesterday continuing the journey of Isaac Clarke as he attempts to contain the Necromorph threat.

EA’s ad for a Senior Online Level Designer for the Dead Space franchise of Xbox 360 and PS3 seems pretty cut and dry as confirmation of multiplayer in the next game in what is described as, “a major opportunity to contribute creatively to an exciting new franchise.” If you want a little more confirmation then how about this description of the project. “This M-rated action/shooter sequel will set new standards for an action-packed story-driven console experience,” reads the ad. “Our team values are as follows: Gameplay comes first, controller feel is everything, culture of creativity, be highly iterative, playtest early and often, learn from failure, work fast and smart, and surround ourselves with the best talent in the world.”

As for the rest of Dead Space 2, we’re to expect some surprises along the way. “In Dead Space 2, not everything is exactly as it seems,” executive producer Steve Papoutsis revealed in a press release. “Expect plot twists that will surprise you and a huge cast of twisted, disgusting monsters that are sure to scare the daylights out of you.”
