Behind the scenes of the Assassin’s Creed movies

Ubisoft announced over a year ago that it planned to start making movies, including a trilogy of short films set in the Assassin’s Creed universe, but this week outsiders with cameras were allowed into the studio where the films are being made for the first time and it’s… green.

See, Hybride Technologies, the studio producing the films, is a digital effects studio responsible for the effects on movies such as Snakes On A Plane and Sin City, so when it makes an entire film itself you can bet that film is going to be effects heavy. As far as we can tell, everything in the Assassin’s Creed II: Lineage, a series of prequels to Assassin’s Creed II, will be digital apart from the actors, their costumes and some of the props, and that’s why all the sets are just plain green. In fact, most of the scenery is to be lifted directly from the Assassin’s Creed II game.
All three parts of Assassin’s Creed II: Lineage are to be released during the lead-up to the game’s launch in November.
