Arsenal Offer Instant Replays Via PSP


Sony and Arsenal have partnered up to offer action replays of match events to spectators straight to their PSPs. The scheme sends the replays of attempts on goal and such like direct to the handheld machines via the WiFi network around Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium. The service is to be called Arsenal TV Matchday will cost £10 to download the initial application and will work at Premier League games for the remainder of the season.

Arsenal TV Matchday will offer, “action replays from selected camera angles, plus slow-motion options, live match statistics, team sheets and Arsenal player profiles and pre-match video content and Arsenal.com editorial news,” according to the football club’s website. Fans will also be able to use the service to vote for their man of the match and keep tabs on results elsewhere in the Premier League.

“Emirates Stadium continues to provide cutting edge experiences to our fans,” Tom Fox, Chief Commercial Officer at Arsenal Football Club said on the team’s site. “Thanks to technology advancements, the incredible level of entertainment offered before, during and after games means we remain the ultimate football venue.”

“No one would deny that the live experience is the ultimate way to watch sport,” added Mark Grinyer, Head of Sports Business, Sony Professional. “What this new service offers is an even more immersive experience for fans. Sony is constantly looking at ways in which technology can benefit both the fan and the Club.
