Zelda celebrated by gamesTM and Retro Gamer

It’s a Legend of Zelda celebration from Imagine Publishing, with both games™ and Retro Gamer sporting a foil The Legend of Zelda: Wind  Waker HD cover. These special cover treatments have been arranged exclusively with Nintendo to showcase the new HD Wii-U version of the acclaimed The Legend of Zelda franchise.

games™ is renowned for its world-beating access to key developers in the games industry, and this month interviews producer Eiji Aonuma about the past, present and future of The Legend of Zelda. The front cover of the magazine features Link in a classic pose from Zelda: Wind Waker, on a special gold foil.

Samuel Roberts, games™ Editor commented, “This issue is something I’m really proud of, both as a love letter to Zelda and as a work of cover design craft. Simplicity won out with the use of the artwork – we focused on the iconography of Link as a character, and created one of the best games™ covers in recent memory.”

Retro Gamer’s cover boasts a blue foil sea with Link sailing his boat and the tongue-in-cheek headline of “The Wind Maker.” Combined with a 10-page Making Of Wind Waker feature, and interview with Aonuma-san, this is an issue that is guaranteed to satisfy Nintendo retro gaming fans the world over.

Retro Gamer Editor Darran Jones enthused, “Our Zelda cover represents not only our close creative ties with Nintendo, but also highlights the excellent in-depth articles that Retro Gamer has become associated with over the past eight years.”

Editor in Chief, Nick Roberts, added, “We have always had an excellent relationship with Nintendo at Imagine, and it’s great to see one of its iconic brands being celebrated in such an eye-catching way. Our special edition covers are true videogame collector’s items.”
