Uncharted on PS4 – 4 things we want to see

Uncharted is coming to PS4, and while we expect to learn more at E3, here are 4 things we hope to see in Naughty Dog’s next game:

DRAKE RETURNS – BUT NOT AS A PLAYABLE CHARACTER

We love Nathan Drake, but the time is right for a new main character to take the reigns. We’d love to see Drake return as a mentor figure to a new, interesting protagonist that can put a new spin on things. Drake’s story is done, but that doesn’t mean he has to swan off into the sunset.

LESS SUPERNATURAL NONSENSE

The worst bit of every Uncharted game is the inevitable reveal of supernatural monster guff in the final couple of hours. We know they aren’t particularly realistic games in the first place, but we’ve always found the supernatural stuff to be a step too far. Could we rein it in a bit this time, please ND?

MORE GLOBETROTTING GOODNESS

Naughty Dog creates some of the most beautiful settings in video games today, and we’d love to see what they can do on PS4. Rather than an adventure set in one area, we’d love to see Drake and co set off around the world, visiting a number of different locales so the art team gets a chance to really show what they can do.

A CRASH BANDICOOT CAMEO

Alright, we are getting a bit silly now. ND has been good at sticking in little references to past games, such as small nods to Uncharted in The Last Of Us. Of course, what we really want is to find out every ND game is set in the same universe. Uncharted is first chronologically, before the disaster of The Last Of Us takes place. Centuries later, Crash Bandicoot occurs in a post-apocalyptic wilderness, and thousands of years after that, Jak and Daxter occurs in a rebuilt, sci-fi civilization. Makes sense, right?
