7 Best ‘Arrogant’ Sony Quotes

Tretton

Sony is promising that it won’t be arrogant anymore, which is a shame because we liked arrogant Sony. It helped us to feel superior, which we are. Anyway, as a mark of respect for the good old days of Sony superiority we thought we would gather together some of our favourite quotes of the last few years. Enjoy.

“It’s probably too cheap.” Ken Kutaragi wanted to charge you more for the PS3 it would seem.

“I don’t think the battle would be any different with or without Grand Theft Auto… I don’t think it (losing Grand Theft Auto would) hurts us. No, I really don’t.” Jack Tretton doesn’t want GTA anyway, it’s for losers and you’re a loser and he’s not, so nurgh!

“The idea of a handheld rivalry with Nintendo is an irrelevance. Those formats don’t appear in our planning. It’s not a fair comparison; not fair on them, I should stress. That sounds arrogant, maybe, but it’s the truth.” Phil Harrison only speaks the truth about the PSP.

“If you can find a PS3 anywhere in North America that’s been on shelves for more than five minutes, I’ll give you 1200 bucks for it.” Jack Tretton suddenly receives a lot of photos of PS3s stacking up in shops. Oh dear.

“Nobody will ever use 100% of PS3’s capability.” Phil Harrison says it can’t happen. It’s impossible, which begs the question why bother going that far in the first place.

“The name of the game is not market share, it’s how fast we (Sony) can grow the industry.” Ken Kutaragi again bigging up Sony. the only company making the games industry grow.

“If you really want to get involved in playing with a camera I suggest you go out and buy a $99 PlayStation 2 and play some of the great technology we invented eight years ago.” Jack Tretton lays some smack down on Natal, but you won’t be hearing anymore of that.

…well it probably is if you think about everything it does in one.

…I think it hurt the games technical potential more than it hurt Sony.

…Because then the 80-90% will be higher than if the 100% is lower; and what he says is true, well, you can use 100% of it but not to it’s full potential that is.

    …Lol.

nice … my favorite is of course the never-ending promise that the PS3’s full capacity will never be used…I’m pretty sure games like Uncharted 2 made the system work up a sweat, it’s an awesome concept though..

Actually, Tretton could stand to be less arrogant AND stop showing his annoying face! The list of people I want to punch in the face more than him is not terribly long.
