VG247 is reporting that a LittleBigPlanet sequel is in the works and will be released this year. This news flies in the face of claims from Media Molecule in the past that it would resist a sequel. Its reasoning was that a LBP 2 would alienate buyers of the first game by voiding their creative efforts. MM seemed to think it could bring all the changes and updates to the game it wanted to through DLC alone.

Gamers aren't traditionally know for their good dress sense and, to be honest, that's entirely fair. Generally, we have no idea of what the latest clothing trends are or how to co-ordinate our wardrobe, whatever that means. Maybe games themselves are teaching us all the wrong lessons. We investigated…

Imagine you’re waiting for the next big thing. In fact, imagine you’re waiting for something that is being developed under the title The Next Big Thing, which LittleBigPlanet was. It’s supposed to be the… well, you get the picture. It’s hyped up to levels you wouldn’t believe and your appetite is suitably whetted by the lovely-looking screenshots and the promise of a new icon for PlayStation in the form of Sackboy. Then the next big thing finally arrives and it turns ...

All that thinking (which is bad for your eyesight I seem to recall) often leads to people making resolutions to commit themselves to change. Perhaps you're doing that too, so we thought we would bring your attention to some items that could help you become a better and more interesting person.

We could have our first details of the water update for LittleBigPlanet, still to be dated, and the latest rumours indicate some added movie based fun will arrive the DLC splashes down on us all. A Trophies list for the DLC has been posted up on the PS3 Trophies forum and looks pretty solid evidence of a Pirates Of The Caribbean themed update to coincide with the addition of water as a level design element.

US President Barack Obama has been in the gaming news a few times since he took office almost a year ago (and a few before, actually), as a few of his speeches were taken out of context and put to the gaming public as saying 'the boss of this country thinks you should stop playing games and get a life'. Well, we read what he actually said and realised this was nonsense, and now he's backed that up by not only name-checking LittleBigPlanet but ...

Anyone hoping for a LittleBigPlanet sequel will be sorely disappointed with the news that it is never going to happen, although anyone hoping for a LittleBigPlanet sequel will have missed the point of LittleBigPlanet so badly that you’d have to assume they hadn’t played it. It’s not just a game, it’s a platform in its own right and for that reason MM has clearly stated that it will continue to make regular updates available, including water coming soon, ...

Anyone who's sick of hearing the same old music over and over again while playing those user-created levels in LittleBigPlanet will be delighted to hear that Mm has released a brand new music pack today. The three new tracks come from Mat Clark, the guy behind a lot of the original music in the game, and costs the princely sum of £2.39. You can get a sample of the tracks by watching the video below. We only hope we can get Sackboy's butterfly wings soon....

And Japan hearts Media Molecule back according to a recent interview with executive producer Siobhan Reddy. She revealed at the CEDEC conference in Japan where LittleBigPlanet was nominated for a number of awards as well as being the centre of a keynote presented by Reddy, that Hideo Kojima had loved the Metal Gear content in LBP and that she would really like to collaborate with Studio Ghibli in the future.
