Marriage is an institute - or at least that's what the institution tells us. So it's always fun to see what the world of gaming makes of that point in life when your life is over. Ahem. But yes - marriage and games, let's take a look:

Rockstar has taken over the wall on the corner of Canal and Greene in Manhattan, New York with its latest Red Dead Redemption ad. This is the same wall that was used to advertise Grand Theft Auto IV and its expansion The Lost & Damned, which will finally be coming to PS3 this year. Not much more to say than that, but we thought you would like to see it. [gallery link="file" orderby="title"]

It's an announcement of an announcement, which is our favourite kind of announcement. Rockstar has revealed that we will finally be seeing more of mysterious Team Bondi title L.A. Noire, which was originally revealed back in 2006. This news comes from Rockstar's official blog as part of its 'Asked and Answered,' session.

In the grand tradition of 'announcements we actually didn't see happening' this has to rank pretty high up. A reboot of the franchise launched back in 2003, set to compete with the likes of GTA IV - yep, it's a new True Crime title.

While things don't look rosy for the time being on whether the PS3 will be getting any DLC for Grand Theft Auto IV, at least we can rest easy in the fact that the console is getting a whole new game by Rockstar North in the shape of Agent. Unfortunately, we know nothing about the game itself aside from a brief synopsis of its plot ('70s, espionage, cold war), the name, logo and - now, at least - ...

Here's where we take a look back at PlayStation's past through the tried and trusted formula of a list feature! Today's ten? Acronyms, or that should be, A.C.R.O.N.Y.M.S. (Acronyms Compensate for Restricted Originality and NormallY Mean Sod all).

I didn't mean for my first PLAY blog post to be one that put me on the offensive, but recent mud slinging concerning the changes to how videogames will be rated in the UK have compelled me to speak up. The most recent story is the BBFC still trying to justify why it should be given the job or rating games in Britain despite the fact they have already been passed by Pan European Game Information (PEGI), which the government has now given full backing.

While we're not even getting the announced GTA: Lost and Damned content, due to Microsoft's clever use of cash to lure Rockstar away from the PS3, it hasn't prevented me from being disappointed. I would've stumped up the cash for some DLC, had the concept captured my imagination, but bikers? Really? Not GTA enough for me. Well, not old GTA enough for me. Now that the franchise takes itself seriously with its moral choices, Philip Glass music and deeply unhappy endings – all of which ...

Look, look, look what Rockstar sent us! It's like some kind of art imitating life, imitating art kind of thing! So we got sent a crate (or is that box?) of 28 bottles of real GTA IV lager "Pißwasser", brewed in the Ü-Rhine. The label typically takes the, er, piß, promoting that lager thus, "Enjoy the crisp, salty taste of Pißwasser. The German fighting lager of choice for the more discerning binge drinker. Brewed from rice, barley, hops and the fresh urine of Bavarian virgins." There's ...

There are rumblings, going around both the Internet and our office, that GTA IV's cover system isn't up to snuff. Obviously, 'up to snuff' is an exaggeration– people are just saying that it isn't the best of its type, on the PS3. I'll admit, it's nowhere near as tight as the gunplay in Uncharted, but GTA IV provides the kind of consistency and variety that no other game can match. Compared to something frivolous and throwaway, like Army Of Two (which still received 80%), GTA IV's ...

Ok so it's almost 4pm now, and I've been playing since around 10am, and each time I tear myself away from the game to write this blog, it feels like tearing off a limb - honestly, I just can't stop playing. GTA IV really is everything we hoped it would be, it's a milestone in gaming. I've been enjoying every minute, but the game's genius hit me just a few moments ago. I was driving to a Chinese take away to extort some money ...

Roman likes titties– who doesn't, right? Anyway, this means that GTA IV will take you to the seediest strip bar ever seen in a videogame. Since relationships are key in GTA IV, both in the short and long term, I knew I'd have to tackle this situation at some point.I wouldn't mind looking at rendered breasts, were it not so embarrassing. We work in an office filled with women, however, and that means that looking over your shoulder is a priority, no matter what you're ...

One of the most immediate aspects of GTA IV is it's amazing Euphoria physics engine. Walk into a pedestrian and they stumble realistically backwards, jump out of a moving car and watch as Niko spins and rolls along the tarmac. It really underscores that 'next-gen' feeling you get from playing the game - this is an experience that just couldn't have been done on previous consoles. Our best 'Euphoria moment' so far? Well we jacked a car, but the previous occupant wasn't about ...

I'm three hours in, and I just barrel-rolled a car over a policeman. After he, as well as two other pursuers, followed me to the base of the Algonquin bridge, I ran over another policeman on the sidewalk. Three stars. To get out of this, I drove a car to a beach head near the abandoned fairground, and jumped off a pier into the water: I swam with ecstasy, hoping to reach the outside of the police's sights before being shot to death. After five minutes ...
