Perhaps as a response to all the attention being paid to Microsoft this week (damn them and their dedicated games conference!) Sony has launched a mesmerising new God Of War III trailer for you to drool over. It's got plenty of gameplay, some set piece sneak peaks and lots of angry voice over from Kratos himself. Best bit is probably at the end though. "PS3, It only does Vengeance." Check out the trailer after the jump.
Greetings blog readers! I’m hyper busy right now, so I don’t have much time to think up a topic to write about, so I’m going to just fire up the front page of www.n4g.com (that’s News 4 Gamers to the uninitiated) and write what I think about the hottest story right now, whatever it may be.
Okay, here goes…
Wow, the floodgates have really opened. Less than a week after a wave of new images for God Of War III emerged even more arrive, this time featuring Gaia. As you may know Kratos ended God Of War II leading the Titans in an assault of Mount Olympus and begins his latest quest on the back of Gaia as she ascends the peak.
Sony has released some exciting new screens for God Of War III showing off some of the terrible foes Kratos will be facing on his latest quest for revenge. He does seem to get screwed over rather a lot. Anyway, it's all very dramatic and revealing, but if you want the real scoop on all things God Of War III you'll have to wait until next week. Why? Because that's when Issue 188 hits newsstands with our Exclusive Preview of GOW III.
Sony may not have made a big announcement with fanfare and decapitations and goats and another new trailer, but it’s being widely reported that the shipping date on major US retailer Gamestop’s website, 16 March 2010, is indeed correct. If it is correct then we’d expect a European release to fall on the following Friday, 19 March, but we wouldn’t rule out a single global release date, as it’s a pretty fashionable thing to do with major game ...
Sony has confirmed the final pricing of the Ultimate Trilogy release for God Of War III that includes the HD-tastic God Of War Collection, but also poured cold water on speculation that the Collection could be released separately. The remade, HD versions of God Of War and God Of War II were released in the US last year and there were hopes UK gamers could get their hands on them too without shelling out for the full Ultimate set.
Shadow Of The Colossus reissue also confirmed
Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has revealed that God Of War III and the limited edition God Of War Trilogy will release there on March 25.
Meanwhile the 'Best' version of Team ICO's PS2 classic Shadow of the Colossus will be out on February 4 for 1,800 yen (around £12) - shame that it's not a God Of War Collection-style redo, but there's still plenty of time before The Last Guardian makes an appearance. Probably.

Sony has announced very special editions of both God Of War III and Heavy Rain coming exclusively to Europe. Both collections offer extra content that is being released separately in the US, but thankfully there are a few extra twists to make the expense worth while. The God Of War III: Ultimate Trilogy Edition for instance includes the HD remastered version of God Of War and God Of War II that were released in the US recently. Heavy rain meanwhile Collector's Edition features additional Heavy Rain Chronicles content which acts ...
Spike TV in the US hosted its annual Video Game Awards (VGAs) this weekend and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was the clear winner taking away three prizes on the night, including the most prestigious Game Of The Year award. It also walked away with best PS3 game and best graphics gongs. Sony can also be pleased that God Of War III was voted by gamers as the most anticipated game of 2010.
Sony Computer Entertainment America has produced this mini-documentary featuring interviews with the three top guys in its music production department. The two main points of discussion are Uncharted 2 and God Of War III, and it’s interesting to hear how much thought, cost and effort goes into the soundtracking of a triple-A game these days. Things have certainly come on along way from Manic Miner’s endless stuttering rendition of In The Hall Of The Mountain King....
In a surprise announcement it has been revealed that that God Of War III Demo, which will be available on the God Of War Collection for PS3, will also be on the Blu-ray release of recent sci-fi hit District 9. We don't have confirmation yet of whether or not this applies to the UK release of the movie though, but it will be hitting our store shelves from December 28.
Sony Santa Monica has been scratching its head over ways of adding some extra value to the release of God Of War III so that you won't trade it in after completing it and the answer it thinks could be Challenge Rooms. Speaking with US magazine GamePro GOW III producer Stif Asmussen explained some of the team's thinking and why challenge based scenarios outside of the main game makes more sense than multiplayer for Kratos.
As Sony Japan gears up for the Far East release of inFamous it is giving away codes for a God Of War III demo. inFamous comes out today in Japan and the code to play a small segment of Kratos's latest bloody crusade is included. The God Of War III demo will be available on Japanese PSN from 19 November to February 2010 with the full game expected sometime in March.
Jon Hight, director of product development at Santa Monica Studios – where God Of War II is being made, don'tcha know – has announced that every copy of God Of War Collection will come with a voucher code that can be redeemed on the PS Store in return for a demo of God Of War III. Hight posted this news on the official US PlayStation blog, stating that the demo would be the same one a lucky few ...
Words to describe God Of War III. Bloody. Angry. Hilarious. It's true, the latest instalment of Sony Santa Monica's epic is a brilliant, and as over-the-top, as we had hoped for.
GamesCom's demo features around 15 minutes of gameplay that sees Kratos on familiar ground – slicing and dicing his way through hordes of undead enemies in a quest to avenge the death of ...
