God Of War III director Stig Asmussen has revealed that Sony San Diego had to cut a significant battle from the end of God Of War III in order to finish the game, but that this cut content could still return as DLC. Most importantly for GOW fans Asmussen was keen to stress that such content would also be released for free.
Some Uncharted 2: Among Thieves DLC is coming February 25 and Sony has revealed some of the key details about what you’ll be getting. The pack includes two multiplayer maps based on locations from the first game and a whole bunch of character skins too. Plus there are loads of new trophies and medals to unlock and it only cost £3.99. Full details and screens after the jump.
Gearbox chief Randy Pitchford has given his explanation of why he thinks Borderlands has been such a successful launch; he made it for gamers. Seems like an obvious thing to do, but Pitchford seems to think developers are getting scared of making their games for traditional audiences, hoping to bring in the elusive ‘casual’ crowd.

It’s an announcement of an announcement, which is our favourite kind of announcement. Rockstar has revealed that we will finally be seeing more of mysterious Team Bondi title L.A. Noire, which was originally revealed back in 2006. This news comes from Rockstar’s official blog as part of its ‘Asked and Answered,’ session.
Naughty Dog just doesn’t seem to want to let up with the DLC dropping as it has announced plans for a series of new maps and other exciting content for Uncharted 2 in the coming months. Some of the most interesting additions are skins of characters from Killzone 2, inFamous and Resistance. All of these will be free and released January 28.
Capcom’s Yasuhiro Anpo, director on Resident Evil 5, revealed in a recent blog that the content of the upcoming Gold/Alternative Edition could have been included as a free bonus on the original game
If you didn’t know Heavy Rain isn’t just coming to us on a disc in February, as it’s also getting a whole bunch of prequel DLC. Each episode of Heavy Rain: Chronicles is thought to be about an hour long and takes a look back at one of the major characters in the game, but the latest talk is that one of those episodes will see you play as the infamous Origami Killer.
In an interview conducted by Activision’s UK boss Andrew Brown for MCV Sony’s Ray Maguire about how soon we could expect to see a download only future on consoles. Maguire, the Sony UK head, pointed at poor average connection speeds in the UK as the most important factor, although this could all change by 2012 when the government’s Digital Britain plan comes to fruition (it promised minimum 2Mb per second broadband for every home by then).
Naughty Dog has been working its proverbials off getting great DLC and multiplayer updates to Uncharted 2: Among Thieves month after month and for that we are eternally grateful, but there’s plenty more to come. Speaking to G4, Naughty God co-president Evan Wells hinted at some new co-op challenges on top of all the other content we’ve seen already.
We could have our first details of the water update for LittleBigPlanet, still to be dated, and the latest rumours indicate some added movie based fun will arrive the DLC splashes down on us all. A Trophies list for the DLC has been posted up on the PS3 Trophies forum and looks pretty solid evidence of a Pirates Of The Caribbean themed update to coincide with the addition of water as a level design element.
