God Of War III director Stig Asmussen has revealed that Sony San Diego had to cut a significant battle from the end of God Of War III in order to finish the game, but that this cut content could still return as DLC. Most importantly for GOW fans Asmussen was keen to stress that such content would also be released for free.

Gearbox chief Randy Pitchford has given his explanation of why he thinks Borderlands has been such a successful launch; he made it for gamers. Seems like an obvious thing to do, but Pitchford seems to think developers are getting scared of making their games for traditional audiences, hoping to bring in the elusive 'casual' crowd.
Those of you who are anything like me, or just have any level of common sense about you, will be hopelessly addicted to Borderlands. Namely because it's brilliant. Which means those of you who are anything like me, or just have any level of common sense about you, will be delighted to hear there is more DLC on the way, and that it raises the level cap from 50.
The announcement came about as a post on the Gearbox forums from ...
It's an announcement of an announcement, which is our favourite kind of announcement. Rockstar has revealed that we will finally be seeing more of mysterious Team Bondi title L.A. Noire, which was originally revealed back in 2006. This news comes from Rockstar's official blog as part of its 'Asked and Answered,' session.
Naughty Dog just doesn't seem to want to let up with the DLC dropping as it has announced plans for a series of new maps and other exciting content for Uncharted 2 in the coming months. Some of the most interesting additions are skins of characters from Killzone 2, inFamous and Resistance. All of these will be free and released January 28.
Capcom's Yasuhiro Anpo, director on Resident Evil 5, revealed in a recent blog that the content of the upcoming Gold/Alternative Edition could have been included as a free bonus on the original game. He didn't, as some seem to think, say the content was originally included on the disc before being mercilessly ripped out to force the unsuspecting public to part with more of their hard-earned dollah.
No, this was seemingly a case of too much ambition, not enough production budget. ...
If you didn't know Heavy Rain isn't just coming to us on a disc in February, as it's also getting a whole bunch of prequel DLC. In an interview conducted by Activision's UK boss Andrew Brown for MCV Sony's Ray Maguire about how soon we could expect to see a download only future on consoles. Maguire, the Sony UK head, pointed at poor average connection speeds in the UK as the most important factor, although this could all change by 2012 when the government's Digital Britain plan comes to fruition (it promised minimum 2Mb per second broadband for every home by then).
Naughty Dog has been working its proverbials off getting great DLC and multiplayer updates to Uncharted 2: Among Thieves month after month and for that we are eternally grateful, but there's plenty more to come. Speaking to G4, Naughty God co-president Evan Wells hinted at some new co-op challenges on top of all the other content we've seen already.
We could have our first details of the water update for LittleBigPlanet, still to be dated, and the latest rumours indicate some added movie based fun will arrive the DLC splashes down on us all. A Trophies list for the DLC has been posted up on the PS3 Trophies forum and looks pretty solid evidence of a Pirates Of The Caribbean themed update to coincide with the addition of water as a level design element.
It has been announced that Brütal Legend will be getting some game enhancing DLC this December 17 in the form of the Hammer Of Infinite Fate Pack. It will not only give you some new multiplayer maps to enjoy either online or against the AI, but new features for the single player, new trophies and new outfits for Eddie Riggs.
If you recently finished Assassin's Creed II as we did (don't worry, we'll warn you if any spoilers are coming) then you will probably have been given the sense that more was to come. The story wraps itself up pretty nicely, but there are a few moments in the game and a few characters that could well have been used more. Well, Ubisoft has now announced two DLC packs coming in early 2010 that will likely do just that.
Tomorrow, November 26, is the Birthday of Killzone's PAL release and it's not just any Birthday. It's been five years since the PS2 shooter was released and while it may have come on leaps and bounds since then there's still a lot of love out there for it, not least from Guerrilla Games. Good news for you is that Guerrilla is sharing the love this weekend with double XP for Killzone 2 online play this coming weekend.
GameStop, America’s biggest specialist games retailer, has announced plans to launch a scheme next year whereby downloadable content for games can be bought in stores. Well, paid for in stores anyway. You still have to download it as normal when you get home.
“So what’s the point?” you might well ask. Well, we’d say there are a number of reasons for launching this scheme. First, it’s a way for Sony and Microsoft to keep retailers, who are threatened by ...
The people have spoken, and the people have chosen to receive Resident Evil 5: Alternative/Champion/Director's Edition as downloadable content, rather than a boxed, physical product.
As we reported on back in October, Capcom were putting the decision to the vote and the results were surprising. Not because 1500 people voted in favour of DLC, but because a whopping 900 still want a boxed copy. We thought it would be DLC all the way, so it's a little ...
