It’s fast, looks great and furthermore loading times are like mere pit stops to the on track action. And damn if that wasn’t a great racing analogy.

With space in these PSP reviews at a premium we’ll save you a rambling introductory analogy comparing TOCA’s multiple vehicle approach to a Kellogg’s variety pack and dive straight into the nitty-gritty. Damn, that means no bigging-up Coco Pops.

While this pick ’n’ mix approach and the toing-and-froing from jalopy to performance sports car to brick on wheels jarred on PS2 it can be deemed a strength on PSP, nicely breaking up the flow of action for a portable-friendly time, provided you take the rough with the smooth, some vehicles proving more exhilarating than others – the Seat Leons quick and zesty, the Formula Fords skittish and fragile, the trucks simply handling like pigs. Such is life.
Still, this is assured stuff – many races pack 19 cunning AI opponents who’ll climb all over your rear bumper making races genuinely draining; it’s fast, looks great and furthermore loading times are like mere pit stops to the on track action. And damn if that wasn’t a great racing analogy.
