70 seems like a good score for Juiced: Eliminator, like why not? It’s got racing, it’s got modding, it’s got pretty generic racing. If you like playing dress-up with cars then you might like this.

It’s yet another racing game for the PSP bringing the total to 14. Are you bored of OutRun and Ridge Racer yet? Had your fill of Burnout? Tricked out all the cars in NFS Most Wanted and Underground Rivals? Maybe you don’t like the divergence of WipEout Pure or Crash Tag Team Racing. What about F1 Grand Prix? Oh! Oh! Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition! Played through it yet? If you have then you really must be a racing genre fan. You do know there are other sorts of games don’t you? Ones where you don’t have to slow down before turning and then accelerating away.

Whatever, anyway Juiced: Eliminator combines all that exciting action of braking, turning and accelerating with some car modding and sexy ladies asking you to slip them some pink.
The cosmetic car modding isn’t all that expansive, all you can do is slap a few stickers on the side of your vehicle, spray the car a few different colours, apply a sparse amount of funny looking front ends and skirts and things, stick some neons under the car to make it look really chavvy and change the colour of the wheels to match. It’s what car modders do! Well the ones who like to colour-coordinate their cars do. Hey it’s like a motorised version of Barbie. With more wheels and racing...

So! Out on the track with your silly looking car and its massive spoiler you get to take part in some gritty street racing. It’s not that gritty really, the roads and all are very clean. The handling is an annoying mix of realistic drudge and misplaced arcade buffoonery, so while you have to take the corners properly there’s still a lot of sliding and bashing off the other vehicles. There’s also the Show Off mode where you get to perform really dull tricks like a fast u-turn and 180 degree spins, which you might think are the same things, but they’re not!
Progress through the career mode to unlock more cars for you to pimp and then lose them all in a pink slip race when you careen off too many barriers and brake your nitros boost. Which is a pain when you’ve spent all that time waiting for the modding screen to load so you could change the stickers so you get a wee bit more Respect for your gay-assed car.
