It’s Dungeon Siege at its heart, but it’s
been chopped and changed to make
it accessible for the handheld market.
With a lengthy quest and an in-depth
experience point
system it manages
to sit on its very
own, special throne.

Dungeon Siege doesn’t like leaving
its PC home. It seems to think as
long as it pleases its fans, it can
ignore everyone else. Well, someone must’ve
threatened it into branching out, as a brand
new Dungeon Siege is with us and it’s been
built specifically for the PSP.
Followers of the series will notice that the
battling system used in previous versions
has been tweaked. Rather than just clicking
on an enemy and watching your warrior beat
the living hell out of it, you now have to attack
your foes manually. Although we can hear the
gasps of hardcore Siege addicts from around
the world, there’s really no need to worry; the
new method is extremely intuitive and much
more suited to the portable experience.
Although for the majority of the game
you’ll control your chosen character and stroll
off to complete numerous quests, there’s
an extremely well thought out inventory
and leveling system that adds real depth to
proceedings. Pressing the select button will
open up your main menu and from here you
can increase your character’s stats and alter
your equipment, among other things. What’s
so good about it is that although there’s
room to be as strategic and detailed as you
want, you could also very easily do the bare
minimum and still enjoy what’s on offer.
Super Villain has done a great job in creating
an accessible and, more importantly, fun
portable RPG that anyone who’s interested in
the genre should consider getting.
