Great game, but definitely one of
Capcom’s lesser-known works. Where’s
Wi-fi Power Stone 2? Now THAT would
pimp the PSP.

"Really?" That was GO>PLAY’s
reaction to Capcom’s Adams Family
meets Street Fighter franchise hitting PSP.

Darkstalkers on PSP is gorgeous:
character designs are altogether kooky with
great attacks, the fighting system itself is
pure Capcom heritage – ie hard to fault,
while Tower Mode is the portable-systemfriendly
challenge with natty unlockable art.
The raw code is faultless. But reservations
exist – chiefly the suitability of the PSP,
explicitly its D-pad – performing fireball
motions aches like a bitch, and we swear
we’re developing ankylosing spondylitis after
five minutes play. It’s a shame.
Easy mode however, is your friend – it
simplifies those finger-twister commands
to something more manageable. Sure,
you end up repeating special moves
more than Joe Cole performs stopovers,
but then the PSP is designed to play on
the bog, not be used for tournament level
play. Relax, enjoy releasing
your chocolate hostage.
