Most of the games aren’t too bad and
the effect nostalgia has on your brain is
a fun one, especially when you recognise
something you saw in a screenshot in
CVG nearly 20
years ago. Rosy
specs indeed. Worth
the memories.

Remember when your jean pocket
always had a hole? All those coins, all
that haste to slot one into an arcade
machine before its continue clock ran down
to zero; it wore them down like crazy!
There is a novelty owning such
phenomenal games on one disc and, for a
portable console, it almost feels like magic.
18 games reside on this one shiny disc,
including three legendary arcade shooters:
1942, 1943 and 1943 Kai. That will sway
some as it is, but goodness just oozes out
of almost every crevice. Capcom Classics
Collection Reloaded has Eco Fighters, Gun
Smoke and, wait for it, three editions of
the most hailed Street Fighter greatness,
Ghosts ’N Goblins, along with two versions
of Ghouls ’N Ghosts, and, to tip the iceberg
off, Commando and Knights Of The Round.
Don’t get too excited though, these games
are hardcore in difficulty. Luckily, there is
now a save feature to ease the angst (where
was that 17 years ago Capcom?!).
Shooting Ghosts, whooping Blanka,
cursing Ryu and hack-’n’-slashing medieval
butt – it doesn’t get any better. Sure, there
are some games we’d like to have seen
that aren’t here, but that’s just homage to
Capcom’s incredible history.
The games hold up well enough and,
most of all, they make you feel warm
and fuzzy inside. The only downer is that
difficulty really: it’s rock solid! But still, this is
an impressive collection...
