Trials Of Topoq is tedious, and you really need floating arms to play it. If that doesn’t make sense, then playing the game won’t make any sense either, and, once again, you’ll become bored of it very quickly. Try harder than this, Sony!

Trials Of Topoq, almost by default, is the worst of this month’s Network offerings. The newfangled (but not HD) PlayStationEye acts as your method of control, and while the motion sensing on the camera is better than on the EyeToy, this is just plain dull.

By positioning your body over a grid, you create slopes that nudge a sphere towards your objective, which could include finding collectable items, avoiding enemies or merely making it to the exit. It’s like Super Monkey Ball, in a way, but the upsettingly plain design of each level strips away the fun that could’ve been had.

Also, with the PlayStationEye picking up on your torso movement as well as your arms, it’s pretty much impossible to create a strategic set of slopes – well, if you cut off your arms and puppeteer them in front of the TV, you might stand a chance, but Trials Of Topoq isn’t a game that’s really worth such a major sacrifice. This is completely mundane. Try something else.
