Timesplitters 2 HD Almost Exists, Sort Of
In the grand scheme of things, Timesplitters 2 is an HD remake we’d like to see.
Timesplitters 2 HD. Say that aloud to yourself. If you react with a confusing mix of irritation and uncontrollable joy, you are one of us. And you know what? It nearly happened.
Speaking in an interview with Not Enough Shaders, Steve Ellis – founder of Free Radical – said this:
“We had a ‘HD’ downloadable version of TimeSplitters 2 in development at Free Radical in 2008. I don’t know what happened to that but yes, I’d love to see it released at some point. Maybe it could be the catalyst that is required in order to raise enough interest in TimeSplitters 4 that a publisher might want to fund it.”
It doesn’t get much clearer than that – no double-speak, no half-claims misreported. Free Radical was working on Timesplitters 2 HD, it was never released. We want it released.

That’s such a shame. Time Splitters 2 was my favourite FPS of all time.
