Modern Warfare 3 Early Copies Sell For Ludicrous Amounts, Apparently

Want Modern Warfare 3 early? It’s huge bank loan time!

Modern Warfare 3 is selling for silly money on eBay, if a collection of numbers I’m looking at on my screen right now are anything to go by.

Some lucky types got hold of mistakenly-released copies of the new Call Of Duty over in Americaland, and we’ve seen some copies pop up on eBay as a result. You’d expect that. You’d expect them to sell for a premium – and to be honest you’d be hard pressed to blame people for taking advantage of the situation.

But the numbers have gone this high:

Modern Warfare 3 Early Copies Sell For Ludicrous Amounts, Apparently

That’s a bit silly. Just a smidge. That’s almost fifty thousand real dollars (and more than fifty thousand CANADA DOLLARS).

But I’d be willing to bet this isn’t the work of someone crazy enough to actually pay that much money. Well, I’d hope that’s the case. My gut instinct says it’s a case of joke/sabotage bids and nobody will actually pay this amount of money.

I hope.

Bu then, if you’re one of the crazy bastards who has bought an early copy of MW3 for a stupid amount of money, and has actually paid that money, please get in touch. Play@imagine-publishing.co.uk. Really, do. We’d be interested to hear why you’re so mad in the head.

I friend of mine managed to get MW3 early, and I really hope he didn’t pay that much for it!

Getting excited over the new Modern Warfare is like getting excited over the new Lady Gaga song. Sure it’s well produced and a lot of money went into it but at the end of the day she’s just wearing a different dress with a bit more cleavage on display. Even if it’s shit or not it will sell millions. If you put Battlefield on it’s box it will no doubt sell a fraction of what it will. I hate people, encouraging the same game to be made over and over again. Where’s the progress?
