Speaking to Gamasutra at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas, Disney has admitted there is still a chance its Warren Spector produced Epic Mickey could make a move to next-gen consoles when the PS3 and Xbox 360 both launch their own motion control devices later this year. Epic Mickey, starring the face of Disney himself Mickey Mouse, is currently a Wii exclusive title focusing as it does on a paint brush mechanic.

(In response to the fine reaction this post received the other day (oh yes, a fine reaction indeed), I thought I'd make this into a regular, hard-hitting and incendiary series of posts. Today we continue...) I’ve just spent a long weekend playing Plants vs Zombies. Yes – that means I was playing on my PC. I can only apologise. But when it comes to playing one of the best zombie-based garden defense games ever made, you have ...

I just ate an ice cream in the shape of a ghost. It was scarier than any Silent Hill game, and a lot less annoying. When I went to the freezer to get my ghost ice cream I didn’t have to try to open about six ‘locked’ ice creams that weren’t actually ice creams before finally finding one that actually opens. The box of ice creams made no attempt to hint at and allude to a wider, scarier ...

The latest issue of Play goes on sale today brimming with all sorts of delicious PlayStation delights including the exclusive PS3 review of Aliens Vs Predator. It’s foilly and fantastic but be careful when you open the bag as it might contain a Facehugger*. The Aliens have come out to play in a big way but perhaps play isn’t the right word as the one thing the Xenomorphs are looking to do more than anything else is mangle you in ways you ...

Official ABC figures posted recently show that we have retained our position as the UK’s best-selling independent PlayStation magazine. In spite of a financially challenging year our sales have remained extremely strong registering an official ABC figure of over 24,000 readers (one of them is probably you and you should feel very proud). Now in it's 14th year we're set to extend our reach with a brand new iPhone app that allows users to access the magazine where ever and whenever they choose. Commenting on the figures Play's editor in chief Aaron ...

The Official PlayStation Magazine in the US has suggested that cross-game chat, a feature many PS3 gamers would like to see brought to their console, could be restricted to subscribers only. The ability to chat with friends playing different games is enjoyed already by Xbox 360 owners and is one of the most requested updates to the PS3. Sony has in the past hinted that such a service would be coming in time, but this news will come as a blow to many.

There’s been a lot of talk lately about various glitches and bugs and exploits in Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. In fact, some have gone so far us to declare its multiplayer to be a complete waste of time until Infinity Ward gets around to fixing everything. Not me though. To be honest, I can’t recall ever playing against someone I was sure was cheating. Maybe I’ve been lucky, maybe I’m too stupid to pick up on ...

As a sneak image and trailer got yanked from 1up.com we also got the news through that Sega's Sonic Team is not responsible for the Blue Hedgehog's left to right return. Development duties are instead being taken up by a studio called Dimps on Osaka. That name may not be familiar to you, but the team there recently worked with Capcom in developing Street Fighter IV and made the Sonic Rush and Sonic Advance games for Nintendo DS and GBA respectively.

Format: PS3 Released: 2008 Reviewed: 165 Score: 62% Dark Sector suffered a long time in development hell, being announced and re-announced numerous times until it finally came out to be welcomed by a wave of apathetic half-smiles. Sure, it could be argued that the original setting was far more interesting, with protagonist Hayden battling baddies in a sci-fi setting. But bringing the story back to Earth and setting it against the classic American enemy – the darn Commie Russians – gave Dark Sector a ...

PSN will be closed down for maintenance later today with the official cut off point being 4pm. Sony hopes to have it back up and running by 5:30pm so it hopefully won't disturb your gaming time too much. The downtime includes the Store and online games. The original 50 Cent game, Bulletproof, was a diabolical mess and, when we heard there was a follow-up in the works that would see you, as Fiddy of course, shooting your way through an unspecified Middle Eastern country on the trail of a gang of thieves who’ve stolen the crystal skull you received as payment for a concert, we were somewhat gleefully expecting another laughable disaster. But then the finished game arrived in the office and we all gathered ...

I've just spent a long weekend playing Mass Effect 2. Yes - that means I was playing on my 360. I can only apologise. But when it comes to playing one of the best action-RPGs ever made, you have to make a stand and play a game on whatever you can, even if it is disloyal of me as a committed PlayStationite. And this is why I must add my voice to the pile of those that demand the Mass ...
