Gran Turismo 5: One Year Later It Keeps On Giving
Gran Turismo 5? Surely that’s outdated nonsense by now? Well, no. Not really. It’s still great and it’s cheap too. Oh games, you’re so great.
It’s around a year after release and we’ve just seen a completely new version (2.0, of course) along with the first batch of paid DLC. Yes folks, it’s Gran Turismo 5 – and if you haven’t already, you could do a lot worse than buying it now.
Sure, you’ll have to download and install thousands of megabytes of updates, patches and – if you buy it – the DLC. But it leaves you with a game that’s about 4,000 times better than what it was on original release.
And it was really good on original release.
Plus you can get it pretty cheap now – in fact, head to The Hut to pick up the collector’s edition for a paltry £29.95. It’s even cheaper for the standard edition, but this version will make you cooler to the ladyfolk, we reckon.

Anyway: GT5, a year down the line, is still worth your time and money. We sort of wish we could re-review it today, but we would never do such a thing. But if we did, the number you all love so much at the end of the words would probably shoot up to about 93%.
That’s not official, by the way. And we sort of wish Gran Turismo 5 wasn’t still relevant, because there’s so much other stuff to get on with playing. Damn world and its lack of time.

You don’t need to download the DLC if you buy it, as it was all included in the 2.0 update. You already have it, you just need to buy it to unlock it.

Why not? Sounds like a great idea to me. Often games that seem great on release end up being not that good once the bugs raise their heads (usually multiplayer games), but others just get better with patches like GT5.
