Titanfall 2 Set To Be Announced For PS4?

PlayStation Experience is set to take place this weekend, with a number of developer panels in place for the event.

One panel in particular has caught our attention, though, and that is ‘Greatness for Everyone’ which, as Gamespot were told, will feature Titanfall developer Respawn.

As you’ll likely be aware, the only game that Respawn has developed is Xbox One exclusive, Titanfall, which makes the studio’s attendance at an event celebrating PlayStation surprising.

This leads us to wonder, could one of the surprise announcements that Sony has up its sleeve for PlayStation Experience be Respawn’s next game? It would certainly explain why a developer that has zero games on PlayStation systems is in attendance at a PlayStation event.

If it does turn out that Respawn is revealing something at PlayStation Experience, there are two possibilities. The first of those is Titanfall 2. The second is the third-person action adventure that’s in development at Respawn, but hasn’t yet been officially revealed.

If you’re wondering how we know that Respawn is working on a new third-person action adventure, you only need to look at the job listings that have been appearing on Respawn’s site. To give one example, Respawn was recently looking for a senior systems designer that has:

“Experience working on 3rd person action/adventure games, demonstrating major contributions in the areas of hero control schemes, enemy design, navigation mechanics, and combat.”

If Respawn were to announce a new game at PlayStation Experience, it would certainly help it to live up to its billing as an event at which Sony will surprise us.

I think they will simply announce Titan Fall. Maybe too soon to announce the sequel.

Yep Like they said they put their money on the xbox one and they were wrong.

  • This is a sound prediction. $30-40 download version, available right now!!! kind of thing. I would buy it.

  • DLConspiracy//

That would be awesome. Hopefully some of those staunch PS only fans actually buck up and support the game. Unlike some of them who hated it solely because it was on Xbox One. I don’t think it deserved as much hat as it got.

  • DLConspiracy//

Correction MS helped make sure the game got developed. So essentially MS put their money on Titanfall.

  • Michael Walsh

It deserved as many hats as it got.

  • DLConspiracy//

You mean it deserved to get funded so it saw the day of light? Yeah I agree. Don’t twist this into fanboy nonsense. A game is a game sir. Play it and be happy.

  • I think they’re going to reveal a PS4 game called Fightin’ Tall where you’re a baby with a nerf gun taking on other babies. Then you jump onto huge mechanized dinosaurs to get extra firepower.

Reskin? No way, it’s a totally new game….

    Who cares? o.O

    If it’s Titanfall 1 or Titanfall 2 for PS4, I’d definitely invest.

  • jb227

Oh wow, I hadn’t heard about that 3rd person action adventure…please be that! I’m pretty much indifferent towards Titanfall because I’m not an mp kinda guy, but 3rd person action adventure titles are my bread & butter. It would make more sense for them to announce something new rather than a TF sequel so soon after the first’s release anyway.

    Call of Duty Advanced Warfare?

  • HgGamer

Typical ^ retarded Pony please STFU

Keep dreaming that Titanfall 2 will be a Sony Exclusive not ever all respawn game announced Multi plats or Microsoft might buy them out beacause Sony can’t lmfao

  • Craig Sloan

A new IP that’s a 3rd person action adventure game sounds both a much better game than Titanfall 2 and more in line with what sells well on PlayStation.

What type of non and prehistoric story is this ???
October 30th 2013, took 5 seconds on google to find.
When asked by a fan if future games from the studio would come to Sony’s PlayStation 4 console, Zampella seemed to imply that future installments of the game would likely be released on multiple platforms. Currently, “Titanfall” is scheduled for release on Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.@AdanGarciaG Of course we will, just not the first Titanfall.

    Take your own advice.

  • Jecht_Sin

    Why? Now EA needs money?

  • Edonus

Now if they dont announce Titanfall 1 or 2 for the Ps4 everyone is going to think you’re a ********.

  • Lol PS4

They bought the IP a company the size of Microsoft, simply doesnt just buy ther rights of one game if it’s an exclusive title. Not if it’s a juggernaut like Titanfall. Surely they got exclusives on any further titanfall releases. Titanfall will never arrive on ps4. Sorry.

  • PS4 and X1

That is your opinion and hopes. Respawn owns the rights to the Intellectual Property (IP) of Titanfall and can do with the sequels as they please.

The question is, since EA is the publisher, how much money will EA want from Microsoft in order to keep Titanfall exclusive to Microsoft and PC.

If EA wants to make more money than the offer from Microsoft to pay for exclusive rights, then EA will go multi-platform.

Even in 2013, Respawn boss Vince Zampella had this to say about multi-platform release for Titanfall:

@AdanGarciaG Of course we will, just not the first Titanfall.– Vince Zampella (@VinceZampella) October 29, 2013

  • PS4 and X1

    Yup, exactly.

In 2013, Respawn boss Vince Zampella had this to say about multi-platform release for Titanfall:

  • PS4 and X1

Um, periods and sentences next time.

Respawn OWNS the Intellectual Property rights to Titanfall and can do what they want with the sequels. Which means releasing Titanfall 2 on X1 and PS4.

WAAAAY back in 2013, Respawn boss Vince Zampella had this to say about multi-platform release for Titanfall:

@AdanGarciaG Of course we will, just not the first Titanfall.– Vince Zampella (@VinceZampella) October 29, 2013

Seriously, not a big deal. TItanfall 1 was not a good shooter, was fun for the first week, but no customizing, barely any weapons, no leaderboards, absolutely NO competition, 6 vs 6 was retarded, especially with the dumbest AI teammates/enemies walking around the map as filler, and only 3 mechs (excuse me, Titans) was just plain boring.

I’d be glad to see Titanfall 2 go multiplatform so Respawn HAS to step up their game and make Titanfall 2 with more content, customizations, leaderboards, etc etc.

Titanfall 1 was just a plain, non-competitive, bare-bones shooter that happened to have mechs walking around.

  • DLConspiracy//

Well they never really clarify as to why EA couldnt help more but perhaps they went over budget. So it seems anyway. Its in the final hous of titanfall if you care to read it.

  • kevin mole

I think titanfall with a campaign mode as well not titanfall 2 and it will be downloadable straight away tomorrow night that’s what I think and it will be exclusive to ps4

  • ianthetechman

I would love this game on the ps4, my son has the current version on his xbone and i love it its very refreshing and i think the ps4 would benefit for having this available on the platform.

Now Elop will replace Julie Larson-Green, who will move over to a new assignment. In a leaked memo to TechCrunch, Larson-Green said that she will go the “My Life & Work” team in the programs and solutions team. Her headline will be primary experience formal.

I wouldnt be surprised if the developers decided to make the squeal for the most popular next gen console in terms of sales. It makes perfect economic sense. If they make a Bloodborne 2 however they will probably focus on sticking with the top selling console as they picked the winning horse from the start of the race.
