Sony Announces eSports League For PS4
Sony has announced that it will be launching an eSports platform called the PlayStation Official League.
The league will be accessible to PS Plus subscribers and will be divided into seasons, with players building their rank over the course of that season in an attempt to reap rewards at the end of that period.
The service is launching in Spain first, before being rolled out to other countries. There’s not yet any detail on what kind of prizes will be dished out, nor on when we will see the PlayStation Official League on these shores.
Gamereactor Spain reports that Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, War Thunder and FIFA 15 will launch with the service and that NBA 2K15, Driveclub and Battlefield: Hardline will be added in the future.
Realistically, we know we’re not going to be winning any prizes in the league, but the idea of competing in online competitions with real prizes on the line is appealing nonetheless.
