Don’t Expect Uncharted 4 To Be 60fps
It’s looking increasingly unlikely that Uncharted 4 will be 60fps when it releases on PS4. Though Naughty Dog has previously suggested that 60fps was the target, it is now suggesting that it may be too difficult to hit that target, describing it as “really f*****g hard”.
“[60fps] was really hard on The Last of Us Remastered and that’s a game we had finished and we knew exactly what the end result needs to look like,” the developer said, speaking to Game Informer, as reported by Videogamer . “Here we’re trying to push the boundaries of what this game can look and do realistic cutscenes, and trying to do 60[fps] is really hard.”
When asked whether 60fps was still what Naughty Dog is aiming for, the developer seemed to suggest there are other priorities.
“I don’t know. The objective for us is just to make the best experience and right now we’re trying to push the look. Then we’ll see where we’re at and re-assess. We’re constantly making choices throughout production of what’s going to make the game feel best and look its best.”
For us, whether the game is 60fps or not isn’t really important. As long as the game looks good, we won’t have a problem.
