Destiny 2, 3 & 4 Release Dates Leaked
The release dates for the sequels to Destiny have emerged in documents that have become public in a court case between Bungie and its former composer Marty O’Donnell.
The document refers to four Project Tiger games that were part of Bungie’s deal with Activision. The first of those Project Tiger games is of course Destiny and was scheduled for release on 24 September 2013, prior to the game’s delay. According to the schedule, Project Tiger 2 (or, Destiny 2) is scheduled to release on 30 September 2015, Project Tiger 3 on 30 September 2017 and Project Tiger 4 on 30 September 2019.
Of course, given that the first Destiny was delayed until 2014, we can expect the schedule to be behind. It seems likely that Destiny 2 will be released in late September 2016.
The schedule also refers to Comet 4, scheduled for a September 2020 release. Comet was the code name for Destiny’s The Taken King DLC, so it seems likely that this is reference to DLC. Why it is the only one that appears on the schedule isn’t clear.
