Finally, Persona 4 Arena gets a EU release date
After a long, looooong wait, we Europeans have a release date for Persona 4 Arena – May 10th. The fighting game sequel to smash hit RPG Persona 4 came out in Japan and the States last Summer via Atlus, but as they don’t have a European publishing division, we’ve had to wait for a 3rd party publisher to sort out bringing it over, a process which, as we’ve seen, can be complicated and time-consuming.
It’s something that happens distressingly often for Atlus games in Europe, and really makes us wish they would sort out their distribution strategy in regards to out apparently unimportant little continent. Ah well, the game is finally on the way, and there is a lot to look forward to.
Following on directly from the story of Persona 4, P4A features all the main characters plus a few guests from Persona 3 as well. Developed by Arc System Works, the guys behind Guilty Gear and Blazblue, the game has earned rave reviews in Japan and America and attained a solid playerbase. We’ve been lucky enough to have a go with it and, as fans of both the Persona series and Arc System Works’ previous games, it’s everything we ever wanted it to be. We’ve been waiting so long for it’s release and now it’s finally here it’s almost hard to believe.
Fans who pre-order get a bunch of extra guff as a sorry for the delay. It’s something, we suppose. Take a look!
