Ninja Gaiden producer: ‘Bayonetta is outdated’
Team Ninja on the attack against Bayonetta and Ninja Gaiden II
Yosuke Hayashi, producer of Ninja Gaiden III, has told Play that Bayonetta is ‘old’.
“I think Ninja Gaiden II is already outdated,” Hayashi explained in an exclusive interview with Play. “That’s why we are making Ninja Gaiden III from scratch.”
When prodded about the impact Bayonetta has had on the 3D action genre, Hayashi added “Bayonetta has some good stuff but Bayonetta is old, game design wise, already.”
He also says that Team Ninja ‘doesn’t care’ about living up to the infamously tough difficulty levels of previous outings in the series.
“Difficulty level is not the main element we are focusing on,” Hayashi explained. “The focus we have is that a new Ryu Hayabusa is the main character for Ninja Gaiden III. Also, we are aiming to be the number one 3D action game. If we can do that we are fine not focusing on difficulty level. We don’t care. But to prevent misunderstanding, Ninja Gaiden fans will still really love it. That is our responsibility. We make sure the fans of the series are satisfied by our game.”

Thats a rather bald statement from Hayashi since bayonetta only came out last year and its considered 1 of my favourites in the genre cuz of the fast pace and in depth combat.I do however love Ninja Gaiden series,but they shouldnt cut the difficulty lower since NG series is a franchise thats make me proud to complete on high difficulty.
I would hate TN if they make NG3 more QTE when finishing off enemys.I really hate that 4-6 QTE button timing bullshitt.
Bayonetta and NG is my favourite games in the genre so.
if they want to make it the best action game they should include a story that doesn’t feel mainstream, and yet make you want to kill the enemy. the stories of the earlier two games felt like it was there for the sole purpose of giving him a reason to kill…
No offense but the title implies that Itagaki made these statements. I would recommend changing it to “Ninja Dog Hayashi says things that aren’t true” or “Scrub Hayashi tries to escape his superior (in every way) Itagaki’s shadow by making outlandish comments”
Bayonetas an excellent game,as for its style and amp up feel its good and has a style of fighting that hasnt bin used ,it also beat sother games by originality.
