Let's ignore for now how old we are, and party like it's the 90's again.

I'm not a fan of the 2D Sonic games, but this is great news for fans.

i think they are better than the 3d ones, but im not excited by this. they have already brought out 2d sonic games for the gameboy a few year ago. this is just a version with better graphics and less characters.

People are saying negative things about it. Why isn't it a stand-alone game, instead of episodes? Why is Sonics head so big? Why are the rings so huge? Just be happy we have a Sonic game back to its roots. For the record, Sonic 1 and 2 were the best Sonic games released.

well to be fair they are good questions. even though its obvious they are in episodes to get more money out of people.

What do you mean it's back to its roots? Is there a demo available?

2D, instead of the 3D crap they've been making for over 10 years. It was announced a while ago, a demo will be a long way away yet. Probably minimum of 3 months, maybe more.

but didnt they go back to their roots for the gameboy games? thats why im not getting too excited on this game. its in episodes so its only going to be a stage or two each, so your gonna be spending more money overall. it will most likely be just sonic in the game, unlike the gameboy versions where you had about 6 characters to choose from. and the gameboy games seemed like they captured the spirit of the old ones just because of the pixelated graphics. and theres the added bonus of it being portable.

This was (sort of) covered on inside xbox's sentuamessage show. They showed us the video you linked to us earlier and spoke of the other new racing game coming out. I played the demo of the racing one (can't remember the name), and thought it was ok... basically supermario kart but with sonic, banjo kazooie, knuckles, etc. I don't think it's well suited to consoles however - the graphics are Wii style and it's only really worth playing with others.

They did, but there was just something not quite right with them. I enjoyed them, I borrowed them off a school friend years ago but didn't find them that fun. I'm hoping they bring back classic sounds too from the original Megadrive games, eg the music but digitally enhanced.
