What are the greatest PlayStation ads ever made?
EA just released this 'actual gameplay footage' trailer, which uses the game's graphics engine but, thanks to lots of funky effects and cinematic camera angles, bears no real resemblance to any actual gameplay. We don't mind though, so long as the series continues in the same direction it's been going in for the last few years, FIFA 10 should be excellent with or without frills....

Here's where we take a look back at PlayStation's past through the tried and trusted formula of a list feature! Today's ten? Acronyms, or that should be, A.C.R.O.N.Y.M.S. (Acronyms Compensate for Restricted Originality and NormallY Mean Sod all).
Remember those grainy photos of what looked like a new slim model PS3? Well, the rumours they kicked off haven’t gone away. Reports coming out of Taiwan suggest that Pegatron and Foxconn, the companies that manufactured the original model, have been contracted to produce the slim model in time for worldwide shipping at the end of July. Couple this with those rumours of a PS3 price cut slated for August, and it has to be said it all looks very ...

Word is spreading about the UK price point for Activision's upcoming rhythm action game DJ Hero and it's not happy reading.
Are we in danger of seeing two of the biggest videogame publishers in the world experience their worst generation of sales because they supported new IP (Intellectual Property)? That’s the question that’s been bugging me for the last few days as report after report comes through showing how Sony’s commitment to launching new IP on the PS3 has not translated to sales as well as the already well documented, but still painful knocking EA took last Christmas with the launch ...

Just a quick update on LittleBigPlanet – Media Molecule is releasing its first in a series of custom sticker packs designed by the team's favourite artists. The first pack is by Jon Burgerman, a British graphic artist. As you can see from the above picture his style is particularly suitable for LittleBigPlanet. Yum!
Also, if you're into awesome home wares and decor, you should check out Burgerman's wallpaper. It's amazing.
I didn't mean for my first PLAY blog post to be one that put me on the offensive, but recent mud slinging concerning the changes to how videogames will be rated in the UK have compelled me to speak up. The most recent story is the BBFC still trying to justify why it should be given the job or rating games in Britain despite the fact they have already been passed by Pan European Game Information (PEGI), which the government has now given full backing.
I'm not going to go into reasons why, but I made a LocoRoco cake a couple of days ago and I thought you might like the recipe. It's based on a recipe for a dense, fudgey chocolate cake and then decorated with delicious marzipan and coloured icing for the eyes and mouth. This makes it look a bit like a LocoRoco. And I emphasize the words 'a bit'.
Ingredients
For the cake
200g good quality dark chocolate (around 70% cocoa solids), 200g unsalted butter, 85g self raising flour, 85g plain flour, 1/4 tsp bicarbonate of soda, 200g muscovado sugar, 200g golden caster sugar, 3 medium eggs, 75ml buttermilk
