Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Sony’s chief financial officer, Nobuyuki Oneda, has revealed that Sony is still making a loss on every PS3 unit sold, albeit less of a loss now than when the console launched in 2006. Sony is currently believed to be losing about 6 cents in every dollar on PS3s (about $18 per unit sold), as opposed to the 13 cents per dollar it was losing initially. We should point ...
Peter Moore, the head of EA Sports and former Xbox 360 tattoo flasher, has said that the PlayStation 3 motion controller, codenamed Arc, is a very different experience than Nintendo's Wii. Despite both being wand based Moore seems to believe that the underlying technology requires a whole new approach. He confirmed that EA already has some sports titles in development for the platform.
A fair few pieces of concept art have been unearthed for a number of different EA properties that might still/probably won't see the light of day (delete as appropriate). Along with the wonderful Syndicate - apparently being developed up at Starbreeze - there are sketches for the likes of Road Rash, a game based on Oliver Twist and the probably-still-happening Gunhead.
There's no real news here, as all this is is a collection of concept art, but it looks nice and ...
We were recently given the unique privilege of sitting down with Final Fantasy XIII's director Motomu Toriyama and its producer Yoshinori Kitase to talk exclusively about their upcoming game and the future of the franchise. Here's what they had to say.

Sega have announced the release of Yakuza 3 in PAL territories will be a pseudo-special edition, even though it's just the normal edition. Will this madness never end? First they tell us it'll never be translated to English, then they say it won't come to Europe, then they say it will come to Europe, then this.
There will not be a collector's edition of Yakuza 3 for the Europe and Australasian territories, but the standard edition will come with a few ...
We weren't sure how popular EyePet was going to be even though we fell in love with it a little on the Play team, but it seems the little fella did well enough to warrant a sequel. Speaking to Gamekyo Sony France’s George Fornay has revealed that a follow-up is in the works. It probably wouldn't be much of a leap to suggest it will involve use of the motion control tech launching later this year.
Bethesda has released the very first glimpse of Fallout: New Vegas, the brand new RPG to be published by the makers of Fallout 3 and developed by Obsidian, who's members include creators of Fallout 2, Knights Of The Old Republic 2 and Sega's upcoming Alpha Protocol. We first heard about Fallout: New Vegas last year at a Bethesda press event in London, but now you can see it for yourself here.
Sega has announced the latest Sonic The Hedgehog game, this time making the bold move of sticking a 4 at the end of the name, making this the official sequel to Sonic 3 after a 16-year gap. It’s released on the PSN Store this summer. We don’t even want to go through a list of reasons it might be good this time, it’s becoming too painful. Instead let’s just pretend like it doesn’t matter ...
Sony has revealed its sales figures for the end of 2009 and they are impressive. So impressive that the gap between the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 could be down to as little as 5.5 million units worldwide. Microsoft announced its 39 million figure at CES in January to much acclaim, but Sony has followed up with 6.5 million consoles sold in the final quarter of 2009 bringing it up to 33.5 million worldwide.
It was rumoured to the point where we just out and out believed it - mainly because we just want new Red Faction and Saints Row - but THQ have now confirmed the existence of both titles, along with a new Darksiders game and Homefront.
During a recent THQ investors call, whatever that is, CEO Brian Farrell let loose the information along with very vague release dates circling around fiscal years. The new Red Faction and Homefront are set for fiscal ...

Are you waiting for the inevitable announcement of PS2 games coming to PSN? Well, wait some more! As no, we don't actually have that announcement today. What we do have, though, is the mention of PS2 games while talking about PSN. This, frankly, is tantamount to an announcement as far as we're concerned.
The non-announcement-but-something-that-piqued-our-interest came from PlayStation's senior VP in America, Peter Dille, who said these words to IGN:
"We're working really hard on it. We're pushing the third-party community and ...

Info is still thin on the ground since we first got a glimpse at it, but we do have new images and a couple of new fighters to talk about.
EA has been forced to alter an ad submitted to US TV network CBS for use during the broadcast of this year’s NFL Superbowl. The ad doesn’t feature any of the strong sex and violence you’ll find in the game, but it does end on the slogan “Go to Hell” and that’ what CBS objected to. EA has simply changed it to “Hell awaits”, which CBS is fine with.
The ad has actually already been running on various networks ...
